Today we went to Tucson to see the University of Arizona. 2 hours by car from home.
It's first time for me, 15 years for husband to go to Tucson.

Restaurants and Shops around the university were nice, busy and fun

Trams are convenient around the university area
There are some students in campus even on Sunday. Green lawn is laid in the center of the campus, and students were playing frisbee or reading books. I went to the downtown area by trams. There are many restaurants looked delicious and fun. The tram was clean and comfortable.

The downtown area was a bit hippie and homeless and felt little scared

Tucson town seems a bit old
Summary
The University of Arizona is beautiful and the atmosphere is very good. The campus life seems to be enriching both study and friendship.
(Arizona State University in Tempe is a huge (70,000 student) campus feels like business and bit cold.)
However, Tucson is far away in the south, the town is a bit old and I heard they are lack water supply, and I felt the downtown area was a bit scary.
As a Japanese I think I would choose Arizona State University in Tempe in a big city. Larger cities are more convenient and feel safer, and there are many Asian shops.
If you're an American, you'd like The University of Arizona.
